Hi, I want to add two entrance lights to my house, which has a brick wall front. My local hardware stores tell me that I have to mount an electric box (1 5/8 inch thick) and then hand the light to that. I was hoping to mount the light flush with the brick wall. The opposite side of the wall is a closet, so I can easily install something from the inside. But how do I get a watertight flush mounted solution on the outside?

Our RECESSED STEP LIGHTS have gasketed louvers that will keep  the fixture dry.  As far as the wall, if you cut a tight hole and use spray foam to seal the unit, you should be fine.

You could also consider using a LOW VOLTAGE STEP LIGHT mounted on the wall which is 12 volts and only requires a small penetration of the wall to install.  If you go this route, you will need either a PLUG IN TRANSFORMER or a TRANSFORMER WITH TIMER.
