Dimmer for 12 volt 160 watts

I have burned out 2 12 volt dimmer switches. Could I use a housewhold dimmer for 4 40 wat bulbs.

Did you know that their are DIMMERS DESIGNED FOR MAGNETIC LOADS as well as DIMMERS DESIGNED FOR ELECTRONIC LOADS?

You can use a low voltage dimmer to control both incandescent and low voltage lighting.  However, you cannot use a standard dimmer incandescent dimmer to control a low voltage lighting load.  Check out our selection of LUTRON DIMMER SWITCHES.
