Commercial Pole Lighting Hardware and Accessories

Mounts and bases are among the more important hardware elements of any commercial light pole.
The base of any pole has to be firmly bracketed to the concrete so that it maintains a 90° angle to the surface of the earth at all times. Unfortunately, most pole bases don’t look all that appealing. With the addition of a simple accessory found in our online inventory—a square pole base cover—the pole appears more seamlessly attached to the earth and also more aesthetically appealing as a result.

Tenon arm mounts make an even more important impact on aesthetics for a number of reasons.
First, tenon arm mounts maintain the fixture in place and must hold that position firmly in spite of problematics such as wind velocity, accidental impacts, and the force of gravity. Secondly, the mount itself must be attractive enough to blend into the piece but “low profile” nonetheless in that it does not dominate the landscape.

Mounting brackets function are essential commercial pole lighting hardware accessories that come in many sizes and builds to fit the circular and square pole builds we supply.
They can both cap the top of a pole to add a decorative touch and horizontally extend fixtures outward from the sides of the pole. For certain designs, be sure to look carefully as well at our horizontal wall mounts and glare reducing shields for fixtures as well. These highly effective commercial pole lighting hardware accessories prove highly useful to custom architectural and landscape lighting design themes.

RLLD also has over 20 specific models of tenon adapters that both vertically and horizontally mount a number of fixtures. These tenons work well with an enormous range of commercial grade light poles, among which are certain low voltage security lights.
Choosing the right hardware requires knowledge of how angles and mounting bracket spread affect the distribution of light, and often this can be challenging even for a professional lighting design contractor working on a tight schedule. Residential Landscape Lighting and Design staffs a team of specialists highly skilled in recommending application and installation methods that can both customize commercial pole lighting hardware and accessories to any lighting array, and that can also save a client tremendous time and money wasted on trial and error, or on ordering the wrong part and discovering after the fact that something else in our inventory would have more adequately accomplished the task.

We will be happy to do the math and recommend design strategies for any commercial contractor or client interested in our products and who uses our forum or toll free number to request our help. RLLD’s growing selection features commercial lighting poles and accessory hardware options finishes to weather many years of problematic weather, so they work throughout the nation regardless of specific seasonal changes and climate conditions.

RLLD Delivers Commercial Parking Lot Light and Pole Packages

Why should I order parking lot lights and poles in a package?

Ordering parking lot poles and lights either as upgrades or emergency replacements is not an easy task, nor does it leave little, if any, margin for error. Because commercial parking lot lighting is to security, it must not only meet regulatory standards for illumination, but also strength, resistance, and light distribution requirements as well. Customers often feel overwhelmed when it comes to choosing specific luminaries, determining pole height, and matching fixture and pole EPA value to wind velocities in the area. Residential Landscape Lighting and Design offers less stress to the client and the help of a professional designer in working out the math by packaging commercial parking lot lights and poles with calculations and combinations worked out in advance. RLLD also provides complimentary detailed, technical information and consultation services that further customize every commercial parking lot pole lighting package we sell the to client’s precise location and industry requirements.

What advantage does a package offer?

The most important factor to take into account when configuring any commercial parking lot lighting layout is EPA compliance. The Environmental Protection Agency regulates both light placement and distribution of commercial parking lot lighting fixtures and pole heights. Fixture values regulate the angles at which the lights themselves distributes the illumination, and pole EPA value directly references the ability of a commercial parking lot light pole to withstand specific wind velocities already determined meteorologically to be standard for a given region. Many clients prefer to have an RLLD expert design a commercial pole and lighting package for them because it is more time-saving and efficient to allow an expert in lighting already familiar with EPA values to help them select the right package for their needs, then further recommend any necessary customizations required by circumstance and law.

What are the poles and lights themselves like?

Several important features of our packaged commercial parking lot lights bear contribute to these key benefits. For winds of 80-100 miles an hour that often gust from the Dakotas to Texas and Florida, it is wise to utilize commercial parking lot light poles made with one-piece construction out of a shaft of carbon steel. These poles are square in design to remain firmly fixed in the pavement, but they have rounded corners to better enable wind to pass around them. Every one of these packages proportionally matches specific EPA pole values to EPA fixture values, offering a number of mounting arms and tilting angles that help meet the exact requirements of the region, This makes one parking lot lighting package a commercial value to any one of the many different parts of the country.

Commercial Ceiling Mount Vandal Proof Light Fixtures

RLLD offers four distinct lines of commercial vandal proof ceiling mount fixtures. Each lamping option delivers unique benefits through luminosity and design features that differentiate its value as being optimal for specific environments and/or budgets.

Fluorescent lights combine energy efficiency with vandal proof fixture durability and performance. These ceiling mount vandal proof fixtures come in white and bronze finishes to match ceiling color, and they are UL listed for all regions of the United States. They work equally well in humid and damp areas and in dry arid regions. The refractor is designed for maximum structural strength and consists of a mold of injected polycarbonate. Heavy gauge cold rolled steel with high reflectance baked white enamel makes up the reflector and the backplate.

Read more about the benefits fluorescent lighting in general offers here.

High-pressure sodium lamps offer a compact, high output form of vandal proof lighting in cramped quarters.

As they produce light by passing an arc through sodium gas mixed with other elements, both their lumens per watt output and physical bulb life are the highest producers in our selection of ceiling mounted vandal proof lighting fixtures. RLLD high-pressure sodium fixtures deliver a reliable 24,000 hours of lamp life in almost every situation and lighting environment. Like their fluorescent equivalents, they are designed to optimally perform in damp and wet areas as well as dry regions of the country. We have two models available from which to choose: a low wattage model and a high wattage model. Both come in a similar physical design consisting of die cast aluminum housing with a transparent polycarbonate refractor.

Read about different wattage options available here…

Incandescent ceiling mounted vandal proof light fixtures offer commercial establishments a sturdy fixture with a reflector made from die formed heavy gauge steel in white finish with clear polycarbonate refractor.

Bulbs do not come with these fixtures, but two 75-Watt A-19 incandescent bulbs with medium base measurements can be ordered in conjunction with these units and installed wherever needed. These are good solid light producers for high ceiling areas where glare and bright light will not be a hazard or an eyesore.

Commercial metal halide lamps in vandal proof ceiling mounted fixtures include the same essential specifications of our other models, but they offer an additional point of value through a quartz restrike option that provides immediate illumination in case of momentary power failure.

Our high voltage halide lamps deliver a whopping 150 or 175 watts of power with a lamp life of 10,000 hours. Many commercial clients use halide high-pressure sodium vandal proof lights for adjunct outdoor security lighting. Indoor low voltage equivalents offer the same essential value package with lower wattage and a longer lamp life of up to 15,000 hours.

Read more here about how halide lighting can light large commercial grounds and facilities.

Commercial Fluorescent Light Fixtures Function as Luminary Solutions to Every Challenge of Power and Light

Other than lower electricity costs, do fluorescent lights offer any other benefits that solve actual problems for warehouses?

Yes they do. Fluorescent commercial light bulbs heat than incandescents, and they maintain cooler temperatures in offices and production areas. They also produce a glare free light that is much better for the eyes than that of bright incandescent lights. RLLD fluorescent light fixture technology is designed for glare free comfort, optimal safety, and longer lamp life that require fewer bulb replacements.

What about headaches caused from fluorescent flicker and the yellowish light they cast on the room?

These problems have been eliminated with the next generation of ballasts, which are now electronic as opposed to the magnetic ballasts of earlier decades. Electronic ballasts better regulate electron flow in such as way as to eliminate the stereotypical flicker of previous fluorescent lights or inferior generic equivalents. RLLD’s commercial grade fluorescent light fixtures represent the highest level of equipment engineering and manufacturing quality available in our industry.

My company has both U.S. and Canadian branch facilities. Will your equipment comply with regulations in both countries?

Yes it will. RLLD commercial fluorescent light fixtures are UL/CUL listed as well to ensure value to both U.S. and Canadian business owners. Furthermore, they are optimized for all climates in both nations. We carry a number of commercial fluorescent light fixtures that have been specifically developed for long lamp life in damp regions—regions where incandescents may sometimes short when the humidity levels peak.

In our factory we use a number of material handling tools that occasionally hit the ceiling and break lights. Do you have any fluorescent lighting fixtures that are unbreakable?

There is no such thing as unbreakable, unfortunately. However, we can supply you with impact resistance that minimizes the likelihood of breakage and replacement. Our commercial fluorescent lighting fixtures are manufactured with baked, white enamel finishes and polyester powder coatings that minimize radiant heat. We even have certain high-end models that provide additional fixture protection with rust inhibitors that protect metal parts from oxidation, and low brightness/extruded acrylic refractors that eliminate glare in critical work areas.

We are on a budget. If we switch to commercial fluorescents, how many of our lights should we replace and when should we do this?

That depends partly on where you are located, and partly on how cost effective it is to factor procurement costs offset by overhead spent on power consumption. If you live in California, the sooner you abandon incandescent lighting the better off you will be. According to the new law recently passed, all incandescent lights have to be replaced no later than 2010. Other states may soon follow California’s precedent, so waiting until the last minute could result in a budget crisis compounded by a parts shortage.

Consider the benefits of investing a little more now and saving more from here on out. Read more about specific commercial light fixtures available through RLLD here or by calling 800-239-2939.

What Exactly are Christmas Light Mounting Clips and Why Are They Important?

Mounting clips fasten Christmas lights securely in place to Christmas trees, outdoor walls, and even to the roofs of buildings. RLLD mounting clips are designed in such a way as to accommodate the full range of both commercial and home Christmas decorating needs.

A Christmas lighting decorations and mounts offers a secure, reliable means of positioning a bulb in the precise location necessary to create a sense of balanced aesthetic. Many offer a rotating axis that allows the bulb to be shifted up to 90-degrees. This makes Christmas light mounting clips very affordable and profitable tools that interior decorators and commercial designers can use to create more elaborate designs that better serve and impress their clientele.

Do these clips get in the way of Christmas lights or decorations?
Generally speaking, they are almost never seen unless someone is looking for them because they are either clear or colored green to camouflage their appearance. Christmas mini light clip mounts are made of plastic and are clear in color. They assume an unobtrusive position that makes them almost invisible to the naked eye. They come in packs of 100, which makes it easy for lighting design contractors to order in bulk for major commercial projects.

RLLD CD EZ clips look green and almost natural when fastened to an indoor or outdoor Christmas tree. They feature a 90-degree rotating axis that allows lights to be lifted above the surface of tree branches and other decorated items. These Christmas light mounting clips can also move the lights to either side of a branch if they are clipped onto the tree in a vertical position. This makes the tree itself look more full of light and a bit larger in size.

Does RLLD have anything specifically for retail and outdoor municipal Christmas lighting?
C7 and C9 bulbs are a very good source of light for any department store because of their appearance and their variations in color. RLLD’s C clips fasten C7 and C9 bulbs on a firm mount that measures 1 ¾” in length by 1” in width and 1” in height. They hold lighting strings so securely the bulbs can hang downward if necessary without slipping loose from the fasteners.

Do I need mounting clips to make the lights on my house stand out?
They certainly can’t do anything but help. If you decorate the rooftop of a house or small office with a shingled roof, use biaxial shingle tab mounting clips to enhance the lighting presentation with a horizontal extension into the space beyond the eaves. To raise the lights above the edge of the roof, use bi-axial shingle tabs that elevate light bulb upward at a 90-degree. This makes the whole front of a house or building look a bit taller with light. We even have holiday mounting spikes to outline your sidewalk!

Crystal Chandeliers Add Function and Décor To Almost Any Interior

What is The Most Popular Kind of Chandelier in the World?
The crystal chandelier is the most popular form of chandelier in the world representative of what most people visualize when they hear the word “chandelier.” Crystal differs from glass in many ways too numerous to describe in a blog. The primary difference that most people notice in crystal chandelier fixtures is a “diamond-like” quality to glass produces a dispersal pattern of light that appears both mirror and prism-like in quality.

RLLD offers five major lines of crystal chandelier lighting fixtures that constitute the largest and most diverse percentage of these finely crafted and elegant lights that can center everything from rooms in family residences to entertainment facilities in hotels, country club dining rooms, event facilities, or even casinos throughout the United States and Canada.

What Makes a Chandelier so Unique?
A chandelier combines a number of archetypal symbols into a single fixture that adds function and decor to almost any interior. Glass, crystal, light, metal, and at times even candles each contribute their own unique, respective identities into a combined synergistic array of light, energy, and matter— out of which rises a new form whose very image has become what is quite possibly the world’s most renown and beloved symbol of elegant lighting. The enormous range of manufacture in the world of chandelier makes these fixtures appropriate for almost any environment. Meticulous detail goes into the manufacture of each chandelier light bulb and fixture, as our associate network of manufacturers comprises The Elite in lighting equipment name brand and high-end, commercial grade components.

What Does a Chandelier Do that Other Lights Do Not Do as Well?
Chandelier lights by Residential Landscape Lighting and Design add a refined and ornamental material presence to the light they emit above any table, room, waiting area, or place of business. The material that composes a chandelier’s fixture contributes much to the visual impact it has on surrounding decorations, room atmosphere, and overall decorative theme. The nature of the environment itself also matters a great deal as well in determining what type of chandelier or mini chandeliers to obtain for optimal illumination and aesthetic.

Normally the chandelier functions as the suspended centerpiece over the center of the room or a portion of the room. This allows it to bring both task and functional lighting to its environment or add accent and decorative lighting adjunct to other interior lights in other portions of the room.

Such a range of versatility accounts for much of the chandelier’s enduring popularity for both commercial and residential lighting requirements. Click here to read the full article on chandelier lighting fixtures and see all we have to offer or contact us at 800-239-2939.

Under cabinet lighting from RLLD provides puts the world in a whole new light of décor and functionality…

Residential Landscape Lighting and Design offers a complete selection of under cabinet lighting fixtures and lamps that benefit the full range of residential and commercial clientele who require task and decorative lighting solutions that are practical, aesthetic, and cost effective. On the high-voltage end, we have LED technology that produces minimal heat and only 20% the wattage of other lights. On the low voltage end we have under cabinet puck lights that combine low power with bright light that make it less expensive and much safer to leave the lights on for longer periods of time. We have the very best fluorescent under cabinet lights and shelf lighting fixtures that take budgetary lighting out of the 70’s and into the 21st century.

Fluorescent lamps have always been the most cost effective form of both overhead and under cabinet lighting.

We improved on under cabinet fluorescent lighting technology and eliminated the flicker of older, cheaper bulbs. We now have fluorescent under cabinet lights regulated by ballasts that prevent the lights from flickering when first turned on. We also install better quality bulbs in our fixtures that replace stereotypically “yellowish” fluorescent light with brighter, normal levels of white light. This eliminates both headaches and eyestrain. These lights are for ideal under cabinet kitchen task and decorative accent in older apartment complexes in need of technology upgrades. Their reduced pricing makes them the perfect lighting solution for bulk purchase requirements.

Halogen under cabinet lights offer one of the most effective kitchen lighting solutions on the market.

Fully dimmable and easy to conceal, they give cooks and hosts full control over brightness levels without detracting from decorative kitchen elements or aesthetically centered food preparation. Cooking clubs absolutely love them for these two reasons. Halogen low voltage puck lights provide some of the brightest glare free lighting available on the market. They distribute light superbly through a special frosting on the lens that scatters the illumination evenly throughout the room. Low voltage halogen under cabinet lighting combines brighter light with lower bills.

The most well known benefit of xenon under cabinet lighting is the combination of bright white light and long bulb life these versatile lamps offer.

Xenon under cabinet lights typically last three times longer than halogen lights, and they emit no UV radiation. For any work area or home lighting situation where sensitive documents or even artwork could be damaged with ultraviolet light, xenon under cabinet lighting offers full protection from light’s potentially damaging effects with no sacrifice of its brilliance or effectiveness. For commercial clients who need puck lights in work areas that are poorly air-conditioned, these xenon low voltage under cabinet pucks shield workers from excess heat with a special plastic housing that keeps not only the bills down, but the temperature lower as well.

LED under cabinet lighting takes both task and design to a whole new level of evolution with a technology that by 2020 may be the dominant, preferred method of lighting worldwide.

LED offers 100% UV free under cabinet lighting, but the bulb life is the longest of any light in the world – up to 60,000 hours on the average. LED under cabinet lights offer the very best glare reduction and use only 1-watt of power. Because LED’s use diodes to produce light, neither high voltage nor low voltage under cabinet LED lights require any additional heat shielding or ventilation. Even better, RLLD now has LED under cabinet lights with special radial lenses and prismatic covers that brilliantly distribute light over work surfaces, and just recently we added LED illuminated shelves that combine under cabinet lights and cabinet shelving itself.
