Replacement lenses and gaskets for outdoor landscape lighting fixtures.

I have a bunch of these fixtures and have order bulbs from you in the past. Question is when ordering the above is there a lense cover/sheld above the bulb. I have several of these that water gets into casing and has no where to drain. Bulb goes bad and then the sockey ends up cracking. I am in Florida and we have a lot of rain as well. I need to keep consistant mercury vapor lighting so whats the solution. thanks, john

These up light mercury vapor fixtures do come with a clear glass lens and rubber gasket. The fixture has weep holes in the bottom of the fixture to allow water to drain through. Remove the lamps from your existing fixtures and clean out the bugs and debris that has accumulated around the socket. We do sell replacement R40 lenses and replacement gaskets if you need a few for existing lights.

What is the best way to install step lights on wood pillars?

I have ten pillars that I want to install wall mounted low voltage lights to. Planning to drill hole through wall, approx 16" to back side - run lamp cable through hole then on to the next, etc. and connect to transformer. Distance between pillars is approx. 5 feet. What transformer(s) should I use, do I need two? Any technical suggestions? Does this lamp come in any other finishes? Thanks.

Sounds like a good plan. I would split up the runs to the Arroyo 12 volt step lights into more than one feed. That way you will not experience dim lights caused by voltage drop.

Check out our designing low voltage lighting systems information page for valuable tips and suggestions.

I would purchase a Techlight 300 watt outdoor lighting transformer and Techlight 12/2 direct burial cable for a successful installation.

For now, all we have is verde green in this model. Feel free to contact RLLD toll free at 800-239-2939 for more step lighting ideas.

Using a monopoint adapter to install a single track light fixture.

Does this adjustable light screw into a 120 volt recessed light socket? If not, is there a way to convert 120 volt recessed lights into low voltage lights that screw into the 120 volt recessed can socket and can be adjusted to shine on the wall?

No, this is a Lightolier track light that must be attached to a track or monopoint adapter. We do not have any screw in socket adapters.

We do have a Liton monopoint adapter and Liton track lighting fixtures that are similar to the one you selected.

How many Christmas lights can I put on this timer?

How many strings of small Christmas lights will this weatherproof timer handle? I have roughly 15 strands that I need to install in my bushes.

This plug in seasonal lighting timer is rated for up to 15 amps. That means you can run approximately 20 strands of 100 lights depending on the brand you have. The amperage should be posted on the tag that is on the cord of your lights. Here is the formula for calculating amperage: Watts/Volts = Amps

Replacement light bulbs for grand piano lighting fixtures.

I recently purchased the grand piano lamp GPXL-617. Two light bulbs have burned out. Can I purchase them from you?

Yes, we have replacement 15 watt T4 light bulbs for your grand piano light. The best value is to buy them in bulk as they are not a typical light bulb that you would find at the grocery store.

What is the best way to light my sidewalk for safe

I am interested in this light for the front walk on my house. The walk turns 90 degrees after several steps off of the driveway. Walkway about 20 ft long. Is this the correct light for me? I want it to go on just as the person moves onto the main walkway. There is a wall on the right of the walk. Also, what is the difference between a bullet flood and a bell flood for my purposes, which is to provide adeuquate lighting for saftey along the walk. Any other suggestions would be welcome. Thank you

The EXPERT recommends taking a look at the spec sheet for this product, which can be found by following this link: Specification sheet.

The motion lighting fixture you have selected will do a nice job of providing safety for your friends and family. However, light travels in a straight line and will not bend around the corner you mentioned.

I would take a more designer approach using well placed copper path lighting fixtures and a few low voltage uplights to wash the fron of the house. This will satisfy both the safety aspect of your project and look good at the same time.

We also have pre-packaged outdoor lighting kits for the do it yourselfer!

What is wrong with my Malibu ML121RT lighting transformer?

I can not get the Malibu transformer to put out the required 12 v to light my lights. This is the 3rd one I have tried. What am I doing wrong? It is a ML121RT.

I would check the voltage coming out of the receptacle, using a voltage meter to see that it is a full 120 volts. It might be on a dimmer or not putting out the right voltage. 120 volts in produces 12 volts out. 100 volts in produces roughly 8 volts out.

Contact Intermatic customer service for assistance with your transformer if you power tests OK. All else fails, contact your local electrician.

Puck lights in cabinets produce good lighting results.

I would like to know if this light would be ok/safe to mount inside a cabinet. It will be wired so that the door would activate the light. Thanks, George

Mounting a puck light in a cabinet is a perfect way to provide some light inside the cabinet. Just be sure that you do not allow objects to come in direct contact with the light fixture. Even though it is only a 20 watt lamp, it gets hot and could be a fire hazard in some circumstances.

Fluorescent task lights can be controlled with a single wall switch.

Can these be hardwired and if so, can I wire two to the same switch?

Sure, these fluorescent lights can be hard wired to the same switch. In fact, these Alkco fluorescent lights have a buit in switch that will allow you to control them individually or collectively with a wall switch. In other words, once the wall switch is on sending power to the lights, you can switch off one or both of your lights if desired from the light fixture.

What is the best way to light a residential or commercial workshop?

My friend and I have built two 30'' x 45'' shops with 16'' walls and vaulted ceiling''s taking the middle to approximately 23''-6". Will two of these lights provide enough light to play basketball, work on tractors, etc. Please advise Thanks.

Two of the 22" high bay lighting fixtures will certainly provide enough light for casual activities. I think you will be happier installing three lights when you getting around to working on the tractor.
