How do you switch a motion detector to manually override the device so the lights stay on?

The most common way to override the motion detector is to turn the switch on and off several times rapidly. This should put the MOTION DETECTOR in the manual mode. Fine tuning and adjusting motion detectors can be kind of tricky sometimes. Once you get them adjusted they are very reliable.
