Door jamb switches can be connected either line voltage or low voltage.
Is your jamb switch device low voltage only? (as per Edwards 46-that is you remark) --what is the difference? The EDWARDS 44 JAMB SWITCH switch is designed for low voltage applications only. That means it must be used in combination with a LOW VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER and LIGHTING CONTACTOR with a low voltage coil. The low voltage switch does not require a junction box like it's line voltage counterpart.
You can however use the EDWARDS DOOR JAMB SWITCH for any application that calls for a line voltage door jamb. The splice box or junction box cover can be mortised into the door jamb for a flush finish.
