Door switch, jamb switches, door jamb switch, closet light switch.

I am interested in the following switches: Edwards - Door Jamb Switch EDW45, however I want to make sure that when the door is closed the light is off, and when the door opens the light turns on. Also can I use this with a 75 watt bulb on a 15 Amp circuit? Please advise

The EDWARDS 45 jamb switch is a low voltage switch that must be used in conjunction with a transformer and lighting contractor. It is only rated for 48 volts.

For controlling one closet light, I would go with the EDWARDS EDW502A jamb switch which is designed for 120 volt use. It is slightly larger in size, but can be painted to match the door jamb. It is also much easier to install.
