Ceiling fan box, mounting ceiling fans, metal fan boxes for ceiling fans & properly mounting a ceiling fan.

I was in the process of installing a ceiling fan in my daughter's room when I noticed she has a plastic box. The instructions say that you must use a metal box that is approved for ceiling fans. I am not really interested in tearing up the ceiling or turning this into a huge project. What can a guy do to safely hang the fan?

Well Dad, Westinghouse makes CEILING FAN HANGER BARS for dummies. Seriously, they have a special bracket that will replace the plastic box with a sturdy metal mount and you don't have to tear up the ceiling. There are several other styles if this is not the one you need.
