What is the best long term way to make an underground waterproof connection for 12 volt leads. The connection from the mainline transformer line to the various lights in the setup.
Using a good quality CONNECTOR is one of the best ways to splice LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING CABLE. You can also use silicone filled wire nuts and cut and splice the wires.

I have low voltage wiring in the ground and recently purchased a fountain with a 120V plug. Is there a way to tie this in with the low voltage line. I want to try to avoid having to buy a low voltage pump for the fountain.
No Low voltage wiring does not have a ground wire which you must have for line voltage outdoor lighting or especially for fountains. Your best bet is to run the correct UF CABLE or conduit from the house to the fountain. Ge sure to install a GFCI device for safety. FYI - finding a low voltage pump will be quite the challenge.

I have recently replaced a single-pole Leviton dimmer with a single-pole Lutron 1000watt dimmer, and noticed that the twelve 65Watt incandescent recessed lights it controls were not as bright as before. With the dimmer set to its maximum I measured the voltage at the lightbulb sockets to be only 100volts. Does this indicate a faulty dimmer switch? There is no internal adjustment mechanism on the switch to modulate the range or intensity. Other dimmers in the house do output the expected maximum of 120-130volts, meassured at the bulb sockets.
Sounds like you got a bad LUTRON dimmer. Before returning the device check the input voltage without the dimmer.

I need to select 3 large uplights for oaks trees and 6 small uplights for specimin trees i also need 3 lights to wash the front and side of a house. My wife does not want to see the fixtures She does not want to be able to see where the light comes from what would you recommend
Hiding the light source will take careful consideration and testing on your part to acheive the desired results. Up lighting large Oak trees can be done with several types of equipment depending on the mounting technique you use. For example, a one or more MERCURY VAPOR GRADE LEVEL UP LIGHTS positioned in the lawn, midway between the truck and the drip line, will do a beautiful job of lighting the canopy of the tree. If your tree is surrounded by shrubs, the best way to up light the tree is MERCURY VAPOR BULLET UP LIGHTS with the hub mount option or with remote ballasts. Install the lights just below the top of the shrubs and theat will minimize a glow spot from the fixture. You can also use MERCURY VAPOR DOWN LIGHTS mounted in the top of the tree to create shadows and interest on the ground.

why we cannot use two three way dimmers to control low voltage lights from two locations...or ..why two three way switches cannot be replaced by two three way low voltage dimmers controlling the the light from two locations.

The PARSHIELD is designed to clip directly onto to any fixture that uses a PAR38 lamp. It should work on your fixture if it has an exposed light bulb and does not have a shroud around the lamp itself. This clip on shield is great for PAR38 flood lamps which are typically used for security lights.

I currently have 10 front yard low voltage
landscape lights I installed myself. Worked great for 5 years. Now I have consistent electrical problems, apparently with either the underground wires shorting,the transformer, or the units. The company us "twilight lighting". I believe its a quality problem. Anyway, recommendation on best quality wires, transformers and
low voltage lighting or comments about this company would be greatly

I have a 100 x 200 foot riding arena I wish to light. I was planning to use four, 25 foot light poles. I like your 400w flood lights intended for riding arenas and race tracks - would 4 do the job of lighting my arena?
I think you would be much happier if you used two fixtures per pole for a total of eight fixtures. The lighting would be more uniform and the coverage will be greatly improved. I have recently installed ten 50 watt halogen lights in my kitchen/dinner. They operate via a double wall switch. One switches on 7 lights via two fittings and the other switches on 3 lights. I want to install a double dimmer switch but the maximum wattage allowable is 400 watts. But I need a dimmer switch for 10 x 50 watts = 500 watts can you please advise if such a switch is available and from where. Thank you.
If your halogen lights have an ELECTRONIC TRANSFORMER than you will need an ELECTRONIC RATED DIMMER CONTROL which has a maximum of 300-watts. You can purchase a power booster if you want to exceed that load. Otherwise, if you are using a MAGNETIC TRANSFORMER than you will need a MAGNETIC RATED DIMMER CONTROL which has a maximum of 1000-watts. It too, can be used in combination with a power booster.

I have a rectangular room which is 13f x 21ft. Ceiling height is 2.1
mIts a typical living room/lounge. I need to know how many low voltage 50watt recessed lights I should have fitted. (No other lights in the room).
You should install two rows of six HALO LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTS for a total of twelve lights. I would split the load into a couple of zones and use DIMMER CONTROLS for mood lighting and use 50MR16/FNV wide spread lamps..

I just purchased a Malibu landscape light set and am having trouble with the transformer turning the lights on at the set time. The timer gets hung up at the preset on time and will not turn the dial to turn the lights on. I can, however, manually turn the lights on and they will go off automatically at the preset off time. Is there a way that I could adjust the tension on the on/off dial on the transformer to make it turn easier, or do I need to return just the transformer(this was a complete kit-lights, wire, and transformer) to the store and get a new one? All of my lights work fine and I do not want to dig up the entire kit to return it. Thank you for your help!
Sounds like you have a defective transformer. They should be able to provide you a replacement. We sell TIME CLOCKS that would allow you to bypass the internal timer should they not provide you a new one.

My transformer will not turn the lights on. The timer gets stuck at the red trigger and does not click on. Any suggestions for correcting the problem?
Sounds like the red tripper is worn out or the timer mechanism is slipping on the motor shaft. You might have to replace the power supply or timer. We have external TIME CLOCKS or REPLACEMENT 12 VOLT LANDSCAPE LIGHTING TRANSFORMERS if you need one.

I''m trying to install lights which we can use to illuminate our ice rink on the lake in the winter. They need to be installed on shore and be able to cover the rink which is about 50 feet from shore. There are some large oaks 25 ft in from shore and a boat house right next to the lake. Any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks, Dave
You could always install some METAL HALIDE POWER FLOODS in the trees to illuminate the skating area. I would recommend using the glare shield and mounting the lights as high as you can to spread the light across the lake.
