Thinking about doing some commercial display lighting? How about lighting individual place settings over a table without using track light?
This
SQUARE QUAD ACCENT LIGHT would work well for either installation or any display or accent lighting job. It has a multitude of lighting possibilities and is very easy to install.
This light fixture is UL Approved and comes with everything you need, including the lamps, so your electrician can assist you with the installation. You have seen these type of lights used in high-end stores for window displays and highlighting merchandise.
The quad lamp design allows you focus light in four directions from one flush recessed lighting fixture which looks much more sophisticated than
TRACK LIGHTING.
Whether you are a small
independent retailer or a large corporate chain, this handsome and moderately priced accent light is right for you!

I am in the process of choosing lights for my 6X8 bathroom (remodel). My decorator suggest 4-4 inch recessed lights and 3 hockey puck lights under the 9 inch deep soffit which goes over the vanity (38 inches long). When I went to a lighting store, they told me that the puck lights would not be good for putting on make up, etc. (shadows on the face, etc.) My electrician says something else. In the meantime, I''m trying to find something that can recess into the soffit (can''t really be seen), that will provide adequate light for bathroom type tasks (in the mirror). Any suggestions? Thanks.
I like using LIGHTOLIER 1003R/1005WH 85-watt recessed lights over vanities. I would use three lights with a DIMMER CONTROL for fine tuning.
Have you considered using SCONCES mounted on the mirror for shadow free frontal lighting?
You could do both and I would recommend using two dimmer controls.

we put up rope lighting all around our deck. Our deck faces the south and gets hot sun all day. The clips we used cracked and are falling apart. So the rope lighting is hanging in some places...What kind of clips can we use that will withstand the hot summer heat and the cold winter (we live in a northern state) We only turn the lights on in the summer. Please help! I cannot find designated OUTDOOR clips anywhere!Thank you for your help.
If the plastic clips failed, it is time to move on to more drastic measures. Go to the store and purchase a Arrow T75 (crown) staple gun. It will work fine to solve your problem. You may even be able to rent one or borrow one. Be careful not to hit any wires or light bulbs while stapling.
If you decide to just replace the clips we have many LIGHT ROPE ACCESSORIES to choose from.

Looking for a stacked single pole switch with a dimmer. Only need the bottom 1/2 dimmable. Is there any switch like this?
We only have one DIMMER CONTROL that has a split functionality and this is the LUTRON SKYLARK DIMMER.

I have a new 40 foot by 60 work shop with 14 foot ceiling height and white walls. How can I estimate my lighting needs? Is there a formula I can use ? what type of fixture would be best to use?
You can always use two runs of F96 FLUORESCENT STRIPS the length of the shop for adequate lighting. You might consider a more professional looking approach by using four 175 WATT METAL HALIDE LOW BAY FIXTURES in a rectangular pattern.

Do you have any battery lights suitable for a outdoor xmas tree?
NO, the only BATTERY POWERED LIGHTS are designed for indoor use. If you are having a party, they would probably work for you unless it rains.

I must replace a 500 W "Nightscaping" (Loran Inc.) transformer. It has powered about 280 W of low voltage landscape lights. Since the transformer is mounted indoors, Malibu seems to be out because their FAQ says outdoors only. The old transformer has two sets of neutral and hot terminal blocks. I have a single run with the wires connected to one set of blocks and jumpers between the corresponding terminals on the other set. Please recommend a transformer (with photo on/off capability) and if it has two sets of terminal blocks should I connect them with jumpers as whoever installed the old transformer did.?
Our TECHLIGHT 500W POWER SUPPLY is very similar to your Nightscaping transformer. It has two circuits and can be controlled with a remote PHOTOCELL device. This is a great little power supply that will give you years of satisfaction.
We have many other TRANSFORMERS, LIGHT FIXTURES and WIRE should you need any other OUTDOOR LIGHTING EQUIPMENT.

I have a Hatch trans. model IS12-75. Is the VS12-75 similar. Can I connect more than one light in a series using one transformer? Thanx
I am not familiar with that particular HATCH TRANSFORMER model. I don''t see why you can''t!

I recently bought some low voltage landscape lighting fixtures designed to use MR16 lamps. I want to highlight features in my yard with very narrow beams, like a 2 degree beam spread. I want to know if there are any types of lenses that will tighten the beam spread to create an almost pinspot effect. Thank You
The only way to reduce the beam spread for your MR16 fixtures is to replace the lamp. We only have LENSES AND LOUVERS to spread the light or to shield the light.
The tightest beam spread is a 20MR16/EZX very narrow spot with a 7 degree spread or a MR16/EZY very narrow spot with a 9 degree beam spread.

I want to install several glass blocks in a ponywall I am building that can be lighted up or have lighting placed inside/behind them to light up a small area of the patio....any suggestions would be appreciated....thanks, Bob Young
LIGHT ROPE used on conjunction with a LOW VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER would be one way that you could internally illuminate your glass blocks. You could also introduce some PATH LIGHTS, UNDERWATER LIGHTS or ACCENT LIGHTS that would operate off the same transformer.

I am trying to program my ML88T transformer, because one of the kids was playing with it. can you help
The MALIBU TRANSFORMER you have has a built in timer. Simply rotate the white dial to the correct time by lining it up with the fixed pointer on the center label. Then pull the plastic trippers and relocate them to the desired on and off times. They are color coded for your convenience. Orange is on and black is off.
When it becomes time to replace or add to your OUTDOOR LANDSCAPE LIGHTING SYSTEM, I hope you will bookmark and revisit our site.

I have a glass railing around my outdoors deck. How can I attach rope light to the glass rail?
I would recommend that you silicone a LIGHT ROPE TRACK ACCESSORY to your glass rail to firmly hold the lights. We have 1/2" MOUNTING TRACK and 3/8" MOUNTING TRACK designed specifically for ROPE LIGHTS.
The plastic mounting tracks hold the rope light perfectly staight and will give you years of enjoyment.

We are remodeling a living room and bedrooms and want to add recessed lights. How do we determine how many we need in each room and where should they be placed? Which is better small or large cans? Is halogen better? Thanks
The position of the RECESSED LIGHTING in home depends on the size of the room and ceiling height as well as many other factors. A 10'' x 10'' bedroom with a 9'' ceiling, for example, might have a CEILING FAN in the middle of the room, surrounded by four MEDIUM SIZED RECESSED LIGHTS on a DIMMER CONTROL.
For the living room, you should follow the same rule of thumb except using LARGER INCANDESCENT RECESSED LIGHTS for general lighting and LOW VOLTAGE ACCENT LIGHTS for the art.
I personally like incandescent lighting for people and halogen lighting for art and objects. Some may differ!
Send us your floor plan and we will do a simple design and provide you a quote for the lighting package.

I am re-doing my lighting in my front yard. I added 6 20 watt spot lights on my fountain and on my palm trees. I fried my previous transformer, it was a stock one. I upgraded my trasnformer to a 12-volt 300 watt unit. When the lights turned on I noticed that the lights were nice at the beginning of the run and then became dimmer at the end of the planter. Please help. Can this be fixed? Thank you for your time and info. Matt
You have a classic case of VOLTAGE DROP caused by inadequate wiring and/or balancing of the lighting load. What happens when you put to many sprinkler heads on a circuit? You lose water pressure! The same happens with electricity as the capacity of the wire is limited by the size. The sloution is to break up your lighting into two or more home run circuits back to the transformer using LOW VOLTAGE DIRECT BURIAL WIRE.

HelloWe bought a 12 year old house in January which had nice landscape lighting installed, but the transformer made an awful buzzing noise, so I unplugged it. At that time all of the lights (12)worked. Now, 9 months later I have finally gotten a new transformer, but none of the lights will work. There is nothing wrong with the transformer, it is the correct wattage, and the electric plug works as well. Any suggestions as to what may have happened to all of the lights. A simple, cheap solution? Thanks much for any help, Chris
If you have checked the TRANSFORMER and the RECEPTACLE it''s time to investigate the LAMPS and the DIRECT BURIAL CABLE. First check each light bulb to make sure it is working by making a test wire hooked directly to the transformer. If all the bulbs work, it has to be either the wiring or the CONNECTORS.

We have a 30'' x 30'' court pad. Which light would you recommend for the basketball court?
I would use a couple of our SPORT COURT LIGHTING KITS to illuminate your basketball court. This is a great light for residential sport courts and paly areas. For higher light levels you could also get two of our OUTDOOR COMMERCIAL 20 FOOT LIGHT KITS COLK01 which are slightly taller and will give more even coverage.

I have a very large spruce tree that I would like to put Christmas lights in. What are my options? Considering the size of the tree we plan on leaving the lights in the tree. I however don''t want to see them. What do you suggest?
You might be asking the impossible. To properly light any tree with CHRISTMAS LIGHTS requires wrapping the trunk and limbs with lots of lights. Even if you had brown wire it would be a hard to hide the lights during the day. I have even done jobs where we dangled lights out of the tree like falling rain.
We have many kinds of CHRISTMAS LIGHTS and HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS that may be of interest to you.

I built a paver brick patio, with paver brick posts, I ran low voltage wire in the posts and can''t find low voltage post lights that can mount onto a paver post- can a 120 volt fixture be converted to a low voltage one?
Sure! We have special 25 WATT A19 12 VOLT LAMPS that are perfect for comverting standard POST TOP LANTERNS into low voltage lights. You can always change the SOCKET if you are handy.

I have 4 post lamps that are mounted to brick columns in the front of the yard. I have seen the in line photo sensors for the post lamps and they add too much height to the lamp when used. Is there a photo sensor that could mount in line with the conduit into the house. I could cut the conduit and place a single outlet box with the photo sensor. It would be nice if this photo sensor had the 3 hour and 6 hour cycles. Do you know of any manufactures that make this?
You can most certainly install a PHOTOCELL CONTROL at the house on the circuit feeding your lights. You might also consider using a TIMECLOCK CONTROL for a more defined time period.

My husband ran regular wire for our landscaping lights which are low voltage. Is there a way to connect them?
If he ran UF CABLE you are in good shape. If he ran ROMEX WIRE, that is not good. Should you need DIRECT BURIAL CABLE we have many sizes and types to choose from. MORE INFORMATION

I am building a house and the builder/electrician recommended Kichler undercabinet xenon lights. We are very pleased with the product but found it to be expensive. I saw the American Lighting Product on your website with model #''s: LXC1H, LXC2H, LXC3H, and LXC4H. I also saw the American Lighting model #''s: LXC1P, LXC2P, LXC3P, and LXC4P. What is the difference? Can I use the H style if the lights are direct wired?Do you recommend this American Lighting LXC*H or LXC*P for my situation? Thanks
Since you are building a new home, I would go with the LXC SERIES AMERICAN LIGHTING UNDERCABINET LIGHTS. These lights are designed for hard wired applications and can be dimmed using a LUTRON DIMMER CONTROL for mood lighting during parties. These fixtures are very good quality and have frosted glass lenses for a smooth, even light distribution. The brushed fished looks very nice if you have stainless steel acents. Kichler makes a good product as well, but American lighting is a better buy for the money.

i have a 600 watt tranformer 275 foot of 12 guage wire the wattage of the lights i have total 540 watts can put the lights all on one or do i have two splits in back of my transformer
You will need to split your lights into at least four feeds to properly distribute the correct voltage to your lights. Check out our DESIGNING 12 VOLT LIGHTING SYSTEMS and SAMPLE LAYOUTS to verify my suggestions.

I have an exhaust fan that was installed five years ago. The fan is making some noise. The squirel cage has dropped a bit and is hitting the casing below it. Would you have a kit or suggested repair for the fan? I''m not sure of the model but it looks very much like one of your newer models (Nutone QuieTTest Heat-A-Ventlite- QT9093WH)Thank You,David Shepard
It will be less expensive and easier to replace the unit than for both of us to go through the exercise of finding replacement parts. If you can identify the actual part number from the nameplate inside the unit or on the motor assembly, I will be glad to check into it for you. Otherwise, pick out a NUTONE EXHAUST FAN that is close to the same physical size as a replacement. Give us a call at 800-239-2939 for more specific information or to order the unit.
