Halo recessed incandescent housings designed for direct insulation contact.
My house has 30 halo uninsulated lights on the top floor of my house and they are installed in an attic with blown in insulation. I am getting a lot of HVAC heat loss thru these cans and is there a way to correct this problem? The easiest way to solve the problem is simply replace the fixtures with new air seal housings that are designed for direct contact with insulation.
The HALO H25ICAT HOUSING or HALO H7ICT HOUSING would be perfect for replacing your standard Halo white can. The other option is to build and install custom metal boxes or shrouds over every fixture in the attic.
Either way, it will require some effort to solve the problem. With the cost of electricity going up, it should take you no time to get a good return on your investment.
