Equestrian lighting fixtures and poles for outdoor arena.

Hello, We have a community equestrian facility and we finally were able to get approval for lights. Therefore, our arena is approx 120 L x 150 W. How many poles would we need for ample coverage and what size watt/voltage of lights would we need? Also, how deep into the ground do the poles need to go? Thank you

To properly illuminate your arena for casual nighttime enjoyment it will take four 30' poles with two 1000-watt metal halide fixtures per pole. The poles would be positioned two per side at roughly 60' apart. For competition events, you would want to use three poles per side with twelve fixtures. We also have commercial grade metal poles if you are interested.

I would consult your local electrical inspector for rules in your area. As far as pole depth, you should have an engineering professional advise you. Soil conditions vary by location.
