Troubleshooting a Lutron dimmer control issue.
I have recently replaced a single-pole Leviton dimmer with a single-pole Lutron 1000watt dimmer, and noticed that the twelve 65Watt incandescent recessed lights it controls were not as bright as before. With the dimmer set to its maximum I measured the voltage at the lightbulb sockets to be only 100volts. Does this indicate a faulty dimmer switch? There is no internal adjustment mechanism on the switch to modulate the range or intensity. Other dimmers in the house do output the expected maximum of 120-130volts, meassured at the bulb sockets. Sounds like you got a bad LUTRON dimmer. Before returning the device check the input voltage without the dimmer.
