Year around twinkle lights for trees at a park.

My Rotary Club has just renovated a small downtown park as part of its Rotary Centennial celebration. On the edge of the park are 4 deciduous trees (Oak?) that are about 15 feet tall. There are electrical outlets at the base of each tree. We would like to do year-round twinkle lighting on these trees to add safety and overall appeal. The Public Works Director is not very enthusiastic, fearing an ongoing maintenance problem of broken bulbs. Would LED be the answer. What product? What cost per linear foot? Can you give me some guidance.thanks.jack

Unfortunately, the public works director is probably right. I agree that the twinkle lights would be very attractive, however the kids will eventually pull them off or they will be cut by weed whackers. The LED STRING LIGHTS are certainly more long lasting and would be less of a maintenance problem. Not a good idea for a park.

You might want to consider installing some GRADE LEVEL UP LIGHTS to showcase the trees or perhaps some MERCURY VAPOR MOON LIGHTS mounted in the trees themselves pointing down. SEE OUR GALLERY OF IMAGES FOR IDEAS.
