Dim lights caused by voltage drop and inadequate low voltage transformers.

I am re-doing my lighting in my front yard. I added 6 20 watt spot lights on my fountain and on my palm trees. I fried my previous transformer, it was a stock one. I upgraded my trasnformer to a 12-volt 300 watt unit. When the lights turned on I noticed that the lights were nice at the beginning of the run and then became dimmer at the end of the planter. Please help. Can this be fixed? Thank you for your time and info. Matt

You have a classic case of VOLTAGE DROP caused by inadequate wiring and/or balancing of the lighting load. What happens when you put to many sprinkler heads on a circuit? You lose water pressure! The same happens with electricity as the capacity of the wire is limited by the size. The sloution is to break up your lighting into two or more home run circuits back to the transformer using LOW VOLTAGE DIRECT BURIAL WIRE.
