Bathroom lighting over a sink that does not make ugly shadows.
I am in the process of choosing lights for my 6X8 bathroom (remodel). My decorator suggest 4-4 inch recessed lights and 3 hockey puck lights under the 9 inch deep soffit which goes over the vanity (38 inches long). When I went to a lighting store, they told me that the puck lights would not be good for putting on make up, etc. (shadows on the face, etc.) My electrician says something else. In the meantime, I''m trying to find something that can recess into the soffit (can''t really be seen), that will provide adequate light for bathroom type tasks (in the mirror). Any suggestions? Thanks.
I like using LIGHTOLIER 1003R/1005WH 85-watt recessed lights over vanities. I would use three lights with a DIMMER CONTROL for fine tuning.
Have you considered using SCONCES mounted on the mirror for shadow free frontal lighting?
You could do both and I would recommend using two dimmer controls.
