High pressure sodium, metal halide. mercury vapor, halogen lights that dim.
Can this product be used in a typical residential application where it will be mounted on a soffit under the roof line? Can HPS bulbs be dimmed? Thank you for your help.
Yes this light can be used for residential applications. If you are looking to use a LUTRON DIMMER CONTROL you need to consider a HALOGEN LIGHT SOURCE and not a HPS (high pressure sodium) product. All of the high intensity discharge fixtures such as MERCURY VAPOR, METAL HALIDE and HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM utilize a ballast to power the lamp and cannot be dimmed. It is possible using expensive components, but not something that you should be worried about.
