Rope Lighting

I had previously submitted a question about lighting the vaulted ceiling of a timber frame house. Based on your advice, I''ve decided to use the 120 volt rope lighting and I will lay it on top of some timbers that are up near the ceiling. The only place you may see the lighting is from the second floor catwalk. I''d prefer to use the smaller diameter rope lighting (so it is less visible) but was wondering about it''s light output compared to the 1/2" (larger diameter) rope lighting. Is there a big difference in light output between these two? I plan to put them on a dimmer switch. Thank you very much.

There is no difference in wattage between the two sizes of light rope. Both sizes of ROPE LIGHTS produce 5.5 watts per linear foot. You may want to install two runs if you think you need more light. It is also cool to run a white and blue if you have a light colored ceiling.
