Motion Detector Light Switch

I have a motion detector flood light that does come on at dark with motion but it also will stay on. I''ve moved the sensor, cut back on sensitivity etc. but it still stays on. It is over my garage. Any ideas WHY it stays on??Thanks

Some motion detectors can be triggered to stay on by switching the power on and off repeatedly from the switch. This is an override feature to allow you to bypass the motion switch for continous duty. You might try resetting the device or consider replacing it.
